Scholarship Provider

Aaris Therapy is an approved provider for Ohio’s Autism Scholarship and Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship; programs administered by the Ohio Department of Education. The Jon Peterson and Autism Scholarships give parents the choice to withrdraw their child from their local school district and receive the education and the services outlined in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) from an approved private provider.
In order to qualify for either scholarship, students must already have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) from their local school district. If your child does not have an IEP, but you suspect that your child is struggling because of a disability, Aaris Therapy can help identify the steps necessary to work with your local district to become eligible for a scholarship.

Aaris Therapy is an approved scholarship provider through the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce (ODEW). The Autism and Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship programs are part of school choice, assisting parents who want options, outside of public district placement, for their child’s education.
Eligibility to participate in the Autism Scholarship Program (ASP) or Jon Peterson Special Needs (JPSN) Scholarship is dependent upon the following:
- If compulsory school age (6 years old)- cannot be enrolled in a public school or program
- If 6 years old or older– must be enrolled in a tuition based school or listed as homeschooled with the child’s public school of residence
- Must be a minimum of 3 years of age
- Ages 3-21: cannot be enrolled in a public school or program
- Must be identified special needs via an Evaluation Team Report (ETR) through your district of residence or district of service - if attending a tuition based school outside of the home district, then the District of Service (DOS) is in charge of the ETR and District of Residence (DOR) is in charge of the IEP
- For Autism Scholarship, if your child is not eligible through your home district via an ETR but has an official medical diagnosis of autism, your child is eligible provided they are not enrolled in a public district.
While we are not a school, we are here to support and guide families through:
- School choice options
- Getting IEP services when your child is homeschooled (these include all the services that Aaris Therapy offers)
- Understanding the rules around scholarship and school choice
- Navigating the special education journey
